A late 17th century beadwork Mirror
The later rectangular bevelled plate within a wide border worked in brightly coloured fine beads with floral sprays and flower specimens including an iris and a tulip, and various insects, the sides depicting a pair of figures of a king and queen standing beneath draped tented canopies, the upper section with a castellated town, the lower section a fountain with grotesque sidepieces, the upper corners with exotic birds seated on fruiting branches, the lower corners with a leopard and a stag, within a moulded tortoiseshell banded frame, 73.5cm high x 62cm wide (28.5″ high x 24″ wide).
